While I'm kind of surprised that Craigy Ferg didn't get the nod, I'm also kind of glad. The Late Late Show works because the show's apparent lack of oversight allows Craig Ferguson to run a show that's more off the cuff and less scripted. If Ferguson did get the nod, I think the micromanagement from the higher ups would ruin his humor.

I'm amazed. I figured late night comedy shows were for stuffy old people and that Letterman and Leno would be replaced by hosts I found equally unfunny. Now I see that it's just part of the cycle, I'm a stuffy old person, and kids growing up now will find Colbert/Fallon equally unfunny in 20 years or so.
Very curious to see what Colbert does without Colbert.
